Hello from my new dressing room! (Yes that’s a thing)
I had the idea a few weeks ago. Our attic felt like a complete waste of space. We were using it as a guest room with a humongous bed taking up the whole room. We’ve decided to buy a futon instead and use the room as a dressing / gym room. Although lets face it, it’ll definitely be a dressing room more often haha! We did the bog standard thing of rushing to Ikea and wanting (but resisting) to buy all the things. I got a bookcase (to display my shoes, that sounds a bit extra), another wardrobe rail, a full length mirror and some shelves. I can’t wait to really utilise this space and make it our own, after all it has been a neglected room for so long.
OOTD: A lovely wrap dress that my sister gave me from Stradivarius. Space age sandals from H&M a few years ago. Sunnies that I bought in Australia last year from Cotton On. Bag from Skinnydip (which I adore so much).
So what’s the damage? This bag feels heavy! My ASOS premium delivery expired recently and I’m definitely thinking of spending on it again for another year, but did you know you can get free next day delivery on a £100 spend?
I love shopping on ASOS, there are so many brands that aren’t on the high street and so much choice! So here are the items I bought on my latest haul!
So this is the first item – an electric blue knit from Boohoo. I absolutely adore the colour. I’m definitely into bright colours at the moment and I think it really compliments a tan (which I have at the moment thanks to skinny tan). I bought it in a size S/M and was hoping to be wear it off shoulder but sadly it’s not quite floppy enough for that look. It’s a little slouchy but still shows off your figure. I really like it plus its only £12! I bought it a few days ago and it seems to have dropped to £12 from £15 – what a complete steal!
Item no.2 – I don’t have many grey t-shirts in my absolutely abundant collection of t-shirts haha! I really liked this one as it’s organic cotton, feels super soft and I like the slogan on it. In a modern age like today we’re always ‘available’ and sometimes you just need a bit of time to switch off. I think this could be my new sunday tee! For reference I bought this in a size M, I’m normally a size 10 on top and this definitely has some room in it. I like my t-shirts to either be skin tight or more relaxed. This is also £12 (full price) which I think is really good value.
Item no.3 – With the spring like weather were experiencing at the moment it got me thinking about summer and adding more trousers to my collection. These are super lightweight, maybe a little bit too light but at least they’re not see through. I guess they’d be good for those super hot days and holidays abroad. I’m not sure about the fit as it has this paper bag detail at the top but it keeps flopping down haha! I like the belt detail and the small polka dot detail around the bottom of the trousers. They are by a brand called Influence who I have bought from before. It’s also worth noting that they stock them in plus-sizes too. They were on sale at £10 from £26 so again a really good bargain. I bought a size 12 which I normally am on bottoms so I’d say they’re true to size.
Item no.4 – Okay so quite frankly I’m in love! These jeans are from Monki (a brand that I just adore). I didn’t expect to love them as much as I do but the quality of the denim is really something. They’re called balloon fit which I’d never heard of, but they do have some width to them around the knee area. They’re super high waisted which is a huge tick for me and a bit cropped but then again I am 5ft8 so that’s never a surprise. The denim is a beautiful wash and organic. I love that it’s neither too blue or grey. Also, I have to talk about the lettering down the front of them, I love the metallic silver background and bold text combination. These won’t be an every day wear kind of jean but definitely suitable for those days when you want to throw on a t-shirt and jeans but still look fashionable and add something a bit extra. I think they’re a bit small on size so I had to get waist 32, leg 32. I would normally be a size smaller but I’m glad I went a bit more relaxed and oversized with these.
Oh and they’re currently £15 in the sale (from £50) buy buy buy…
Item no.5 – I’ve been wanting some super fluffy, soft slippers for some time so when I saw these they had to go in my basket. They’re from ASOS Design which I’m really enjoying at the moment, I’m so glad they’ve made their own clothing range. These are a tenner full price but I do think they’re worth it. Who doesn’t want to walk around their house on little clouds?
Oh and I’ve just spotted you can buy them in leopard print too! I’m not sure which I’d prefer now..
Item no.6 – I am on the look out for a new backpack, sadly I don’t think this is the one. Purely because it’s a bit smaller than anticipated and very thin. I expected it to be a lot bigger, maybe I didn’t scrutinise the photographs enough before purchasing. Ideally I want a rucksack that I can use on an overnight stay somewhere, I don’t think I’d manage to pack a change of clothes in this, never mind my toiletry bag and everything else I’d need. The design is cute and I love the gingham pattern but I don’t think I will be keeping it as it doesn’t fit the purpose I intended to buy it for. It’s from a brand called Pull & Bear which I really like. I think I first discovered them in Spain on holiday. I find myself gravitating towards the same brands on ASOS; Stradivarius, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Lazy Oaf and Daisy Street to name a few!
I don’t know if this item has sold out in a matter of days but I can’t find it online, soz!
Well that’s all folks! I did buy a few more items but they either didn’t fit or were very unflattering.
I hope you enjoyed reading about and seeing my top picks at the moment on ASOS. Go and grab yourself a bargain!
